Handlooms
Handloom machines were invented in the 18th century to speed up the weaving of material, usually cotton. They were at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution that spread round the world and were the precursor of todays modern garment industry. Originally hand driven they rapidly became mechanized in immense factories.
