VIRCO International (Pvt) Ltd was established in 2015. It is a company based on the tropical island of Sri Lanka that focuses exclusively on developing world-class organic products using Sri Lankan organic harvests. Virco was founded by Mr. Nipuna Illangarathne and Dr. Dinesh Kodithuwakku with the concept of introducing and providing a range of valuable tropical healthy food products to the global market while distributing the return from the business back to the rural community. The Virco story begins with a conventional rice processing company in the 1950s, stated as Mawathagama rice mill, under the management of Mr. Piyadasa. He witnessed the industry heading toward commoditization. After 1990 the business was handed over to the immediate family members. In 201, Mr. Nipuna Illangarathne and Dr. Dinesh Kodithuwakku gave birth to a new business, a factory manufacturing Medium Chain Triglyceride (MCT) & Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). It was a happy to express that we are the first manufacturer for MCT oil in Sri Lanka. Today, from virgin coconut oil, the business has expanded to a range of VCO by-products, a range of VCO-added herbal cosmetics, and also herbal teas, kitul syrup, jaggery, and to name a few. Our founders had the vision brings to you a trusted and existing organic food & beverages driven by a passion for perfection and untapped potential overseas by introducing the best of the tropical essence to the world.
